Model Library and Parameterization Process for a Valid Virtual Vehicle Development
The joint funding project for the development of a "test bench coupled chassis library of variable detailing for the formation of a competence centre for integrated testing and simulation", in which the Chair of Automobile Engineering also participated, was successfully completed.
This project was carried out from December 2015 to March 2019 together with ESI ITI GmbH and Auto Mobil Forschung Dresden GmbH (AMFD) and makes it possible to provide valid (sub)system models for the vehicle development process. In addition to the model library, which allows flexible adaptation to the various requirements of the virtual investigations, a quality-assured parameterization process was also developed for this purpose, which can be guaranteed by intensive use of the ultra-modern testing technology in the Vehicle Testing Centre of the TU Dresden.
According to the respective strengths of the project partners the following main tasks were worked on:
- Development of models for chassis components for offline and XiL simulation (ESI ITI)
- Concept development for variable modelling depths and test bench-supported bedding (LKT)
- Development of validation methods (AMFD)
This innovative project was made possible by the financial support of the chair amounting to around € 480,000 from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of the European Union.
