Umweltverträgliche und bezahlbare Mobilität - Verbrauchsverbesserung und Schadstoffverminderung

Umweltschutz ist ein fortwährender Prozess, dessen Regeln ständig an neue Anforderungen angepasst werden. Der Rahmen für diese Regeln wird durch viele oft widersprüchliche Randbedingungen gesetzt. Das hier vorgeschlagene Forschungsprojekt befaßt sich mit den Erfordernissen nach Mobilität, die im Widerspruch zur Notwendigkeit des Umweltschutzes steht. Das wird durch die derzeitige politische Debatte stark verdeutlicht. Die Forderung nach einer Elektrifizierung des Strassenverkehrs erscheint zunächst logisch, wenn man zu Grunde legt, dass die dafür nötige Energie aus erneuerbaren Quellen gewonnen wird. Bei weitergehender Betrachtung stellen sich zusätzliche Herausforderungen, wie die viel zu geringe Energiedichte der elektrischen Speichermedien, ihre ungenügenden Ein- und Ausspeisewirkungsgrade, sowie die bisher wenig beachtete Umweltbelastung bei deren Herstellung, Recycling und Entsorgung, die durch deren geringe Lebensdauer noch verschärft wird. Bisher stehen auch die Kosten für Elektrifizierung oder Hybridisierung in keinem Verhältnis zum erzielten Nutzen für die Umwelt. Da die Arbeitswelt heute aber einen hohen Mobilitätsgrad erfordert, muss Mobilität bezahlbar bleiben.rnrnBis zur Lösung dieser Probleme sollten flüssige Brennstoffe auf Kohlenwasserstffbasis mit recht guten Wirkungsgraden und akzeptabler Umweltverträglichkeit in Verbrennungsmotoren eingesetzt werden. Deren Emissionen werden durch die immensen Anstrengungen der Automobilindustrie ständig verbessert. Insbesondere der Dieselmotor besitzt einen unerreicht hohen Wirkungsgrad, vor allem wenn man die Energiebereitstellung in die Berechnung einbezieht (Well-to-Wheel Wirkungsgrad).rnrnDie nächste Stufe der Emissionsgesetzgebung wird die bereits sehr niedrigen Werte für EU6 weiter verschärfen. Erwartet wird eine weitere Halbierung der Partikel- und Stickoxidemissionen, sowie eine Ausdehnung der Emissionsgrenzen auf das gesamte Motorkennfeld. Um diesen Anforderungen gerecht zu werden ist eine weitere Evolution der Systeme erforderlich, die dem Motor Luft und Kraftstoff zuführen und die Verbrennung regeln.rnrnIm vorgeschlagenen Forschungsvorhaben sollen Einspritzsysteme und Arbeitsprozesse für energieeffiziente und schadstoffarme Brennverfahren definiert werden. Dabei werden zwei Injektoren-Konzepte verfolgt. Einerseits der direktbetätigte Injektor, der Vorteile bei der Kraftstoffdosierung und der zeitlich veränderlichen Kraftstoffeinbringung bietet und andererseits der servo-hydraulische Injektor, dessen neueste Generation Kostenvorteile mit verbesserten technischen Eigenschaften verbindet. Der Marktanteil der Piezo Common Rail Einspritzsysteme aus dem Hause Continental kann so in unterschiedlichen Marktsegmenten weiter ausgebaut werden. Für die geplanten Untersuchungen werden Prototypen-Komponenten aus dem Fertigungswerk Limbach-Oberfrohna der Continental Automotive GmbH zum Einsatz kommen.rnrnDer Arbeitsplan dieses Vorhabens beinhaltet auch eine weitergehende Untersuchung der Themengebiete Abgasrückführung kombiniert mit der Mehrfacheinspritzung. Für eine umfassende, grundlegende Beurteilung der einzelnen Entwicklungschritte kommt die dreidimensionale Simulation des dieselmotorischen Gemischbildungs- und Verbrennungsprozesses als Entwicklungswerkzeug zur Anwendung.
