Here's to the Chair in Digital Rail Systems!

On July 1, 2026, the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology became the DB InfraGO Endowed Chair for Digital Rail Systems. After the contract with Deutsche Bahn was signed in February 2024, the search for a new chairholder began. Following a lengthy selection process, Dr. Daria Menzel was selected for the position.

The previous acting head of the Chair, PD Dr. Maschek, welcomed Prof. Menzel on her first day. Prof. Menzel: “I am very much looking forward to this new role—to exciting encounters, inspiring research, and to actively shaping the future of rail systems together with students, colleagues, and industry partners.”
