Noise and vibration

In the Noise and Vibration Research Workshop at the Chair of Railway Track Engineering, railroad acoustics tests can be carried out, for example on modal analysis, transfer function (FRF, ISO 7626-1), track decay rate (TDR, DIN EN 15461) and insertion loss (EFD, DIN V 45673-4, DIN SPEC 45673-3) on various superstructure components and systems. Various impulse hammers and different vibration transducers are available for this purpose.

A large part of the railroad acoustic tests can also be carried out in-situ using mobile equipment.
