Visit by scientists from the Kazakh National Research Technical University
In October 2024, the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology welcomed three scientists from the Kazakh National Research Technical University (KaNRTU) in Almaty, Kazakhstan: Dr. Kanibek Sansyzbay, Ms. Laura Tasbolatova and Mr. Daniyar Sagmedinov. They visited the faculty and gained an insight into the diverse research facilities, including the laboratories for safety engineering (SIL), railroad operations (EBL), railroad construction and railroad energy supply. Dr. Kanibek Sansyzbay and his colleagues exchanged technical information with members of the Chair.
Ms. Laura Tasbolatova, a doctoral student at KaNRTU and Research Associate at the Academy of Logistics and Transport (ALT), is being supervised in her dissertation by Dr. Ulrich Maschek. In her research work entitled "Investigation of safety issues in data transmission in train control systems on transport corridors in the Republic of Kazakhstan", she focuses on safety-related aspects of data communication. Ms Tasbolatova gave the presentation "Rail Transport in Kazakhstan and the Modernization of Signalling Systems" at the Railway Systems Colloquium, which was met with great interest.
