Excursions to the signal boxes of today and research for tomorrow
Altenburg station has just been renovated.
This year's excursion of the Chair of Railway Signaling and Transport Safety Technology traditionally led to signal boxes on the first day. The first destination was Altenburg, where an ESTW with a regional control center recently went into operation. Via Treben-Lehma, an interlocking with GS II technology that will soon be replaced by ESTW, we went to Regis-Breitingen, where the old technology with a Saxon station block is also waiting to be replaced by ESTW.
Bedienplatz in Annaberg-Buchholz Süd
The second day took us to the SRCC and the Digital Railway Test Field. The SRCC and Frauscher Sensortechnik presented themselves in Annaberg-Buchholz unt Bf. The journey continued to Annaberg-Buchholz Süd, where the "digital" interlocking of the Erzgebirgsbahn, including the control center, could be visited. The excursion finally ended in Scheibenberg with the research infrastructure of the digital test field.
