MOOC - Massive Open Online Course
The Chair of Transport Ecology has cooperated in the development of a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the subject of “Sustainable Development in Transport and Traffic” with the TU Berlin, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Transport Systems, Chair of Integrated Transport Planning. The project is part of the TU9 Initiative “Cooperative online courses in engineering sciences” and was offered within the course “Verkehrsökologie I” in the winter term of 2016/2017. The project has been coordinated by TU Dresden’s Media Centre.
In total, six teaching units have been created, whereby each participating department designed three of them. In addition, participants are addressed by interactive elements, such as a quiz and the online forum. The course is still online, available at the website of mooin. It is targeting TUD students as well as the students of the other TU9 members, who are engaged in the field of Transport and Environment. It is offered in German and can also be used by administration employees (federal level) and consulting engineers for the purpose of information gathering and further education.
