Master plan campus design
Besides the university being a place of study, the campus of the Technische Universität Dresden also functions as a place of research, work and leisure. Hence there is a diverse range of demands directed at the spatial design on campus. This is why the University Executive Board commissioned the Institute of Landscape Architecture and the Institute of Transport Planning and Road Traffic to develop a master plan for the exterior spaces on campus, with a focus on design.
There are numerous projects that have dealt with single aspects of campus design, such as the Ideenwettbewerb Nachhaltiger Campus (Idea Competition Sustainable Campus). The masterplan's mission is therefore to structure the existing plans and integrate them into the planning process. To achieve integrative planning, the planning stages will be carried out in close cooperation with different protagonists (i.a. student representation, Students' Council, SIB and the city of Dresden).
Together with the Chair of Integrated Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering, our Chair will work on the topic of coverage and orientation. On the basis of traffic counts and interviews we will identify important routes for pedestrians and cyclists and define central axes of acess.
