Railway simulation system (ESA)

The ESA is mounted on a plate with a dimension of 3 x 4 m. It has two turning loops and multiple track sections, so that the operation of 2 trains are possible. There is a tunnel element for the demonstration of shading and penetration effects of electromagnetic waves. The size scale of the track (HO) is 1:87. The railway system is "Roco Line".

The system is controlled digitally by a Selectrix system. For control the traction of the vehicles and switches, a control center "Multi Control 2004" is used. The Control Center also serves as a computer Interface to a notebook. About the notebook the complete system, especially the vehicles can be controlled. As software, "Rocorail" was selected as an open Source product. Images and other information can be displayed in real-time on a notebook and a connected projector.
