Anechoic Chamber - REX
!! Current development status !! - Laboratory on site decoupled EMC and equipped with absorber cones
Reflection free microwave test laboratory for physical layer investigations of wireless sensor networks. Concretely, analysis and evaluation of different types of wireless sensor networks carried out in terms of their communication and localization properties, which are based on standards IEEE 802.15.4a, 802.11p or Ultra Wide Band (UWB).
Design and characteristics:
- On site decoupled EMC laboratory Shielding effectiveness of 60-80 dB up to 6 GHz
- Approximate dimensions for experiments 6 m x 3 m x 2.5 m
- Controllable rotary table with a diameter of 1.2 m
- Controllable vertical rail with a height of 2.3 m
- Rotating antenna elements
Inside Anechoic Chamber - REX (left side EMC shielding, right side lining with absorber cones)
Investigations:
- Radio propagation technical field trials in terms of:
-
- Line of sight and non line of sight aspects
- material penetration properties
- Multipath detection and -selection by evaluating the impulse responses
- Review and evaluation of antenna directivity diagrams and concepts (eg, MIMO) for specific telematic application scenarios
