Accounting joke book published - Accounting and controlling can also be funny

Are accountants and controllers funny or are they and their profession being made fun of? Thomas Günther from TUD Dresden University of Technology in Germany and Sebastian Oelrich from Aarhus University in Denmark have published a collection of German and English jokes about accountants and accounting on SSRN for free. Anyone interested is welcome to download the collection.

The background is a research project by the two researchers in which they surveyed German-speaking and international researchers and teachers in internal and external accounting on the use of humor and jokes in the classroom.

The jokes collected address both the accountant as an individual and the accounting profession. Interestingly, the jokes address both positive and negative characteristics of accountants, auditors and controllers. Or did you think they only have negative qualities?
