Lecture on renewable energies
For the second year in a row, the Chair of Management Control cooperates with the developer of renewable energies from Meissen, the company UKA - Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen, in the context of the Financial Analyst Report event.
The participating students slip into the role of financial analysts and evaluate both the corporate and environmental development of the companies RWE, EDP Renewables, Nextra Energy, OX2 and Siemens Gamesa, which are active in the renewable energy market. The aim of this analysis is to make a recommendation as to whether an investment in the respective analyzed company makes sense at the current time or not. This rather challenging task combines a variety of competencies that students can acquire in the course of our bachelor and master studies.
In order to give the students an insight into the specific market of renewable energies and also to outline the different roles of companies in this market, the Head of the International Department at UKA, Mr. Maximilian Neef, as well as his colleague, the Group Manager Market Analysis & Business Development, Mr. Claudius Holdermann, highlighted the current developments and challenges of the market in a guest lecture on August 8, 2022. In addition, Dr. Michael Graßmann, Senior Associate Business Development at UKA, is also involved in mentoring a team of analysts.
In the coming weeks and months, the students will conduct the analysis of their assigned companies and present and defend their findings in front of UKA and the chair in January 2023.
