Workshop Report on International Study
On November 24, 2015 the chairs of Management Accounting/Controlling (Prof. Thomas Guenther) and Environmental Management and Accounting (Prof. Edeltraud Guenther) arranged a best practice workshop about the conflicting fields of corporate and environmental management at TU Dresden.
The Workshop based on the presentation of initial results of a study on the two inquiries' concurrence. On this issue more than 2,000 senior managers each in Japan as well as in Germany had been questioned both in the area of finance and environmental management.
All participating companies had been invited to the workshop. During an intensive discourse of reputable companies the study's results had been discussed. Together with the attendant Japanese Team Prof. Kokubu from Kobe University in Japan presented the results of the Japanese firms.
The meeting aimed at the exchange of experience of practicians and researchers in particular. To begin with, the study's participants from Germany had the chance to rank their firm by means of the presentation of descriptive aggregated results. Afterwards discussions had been widely held in multiple groups. At the end of the day interesting approaches could be gained for practice.
