Combined Project ECORADAR - the Operational Instrument for Sustainable Management
Table of contents
ECORADAR [Ökoradar] was a combined project of the use-oriented basic research in the scope of the research area "Integrated environmental protection - business instruments for sustainable management". ECORADAR is the prototype of an operational early-diagnosis system that helps companies to assess and perceive environmentally-related technical, political, and economic risks. In addition, companies are enabled to perceive market chances earlier than their competitors. The portal of the ECORADAR-system consists of eight different radar screens (the "co-radar screens"). They might be employed as a company-related radar for the micro-level or a surrounding-radar for the macro-level. The ECORADAR-screens comprehend the subject’s environmental data, environmental knowledge, environmental politics, environmental destinations, environmental organisation, environmental market, environmental engineering, and environmental costs. The ECORADAR projects incorporated 27 well-known research institutions and was led by the German Competence Center of Sustainable Developement of the University Witten / Herdecke and the Professorship for Environmental Management of the University Hohenheim. The Chair of Business Administration, esp. Environmental Management at TU Dresden was concerned with the development of the ECORADAR-screen "environmental costs".
