Congratulations to Christian Schneider on successfully completed doctorate
The dissertation defence of Christian P. Schneider, held on 19 March 2026, focused on an interesting and, particularly in light of the Sustainable Development Goals, important topic. In his work, conducted in cooperation with UNU-FLORES, Mr Schneider examined the barriers preventing the sustained use of German innovations in African contexts. Thereby, he identified several ways in which political and economic actors can support more significant technology transfer.
The doctoral committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Edeltraud Guenther (Chair and supervisor), Prof. Dr. Dominik Möst (Supervisor and primary examiner), Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart (Examiner), and Prof. Dr. Valentin Lindlacher (Additional member).
The discussion reflected the wide range of methods used and economic sectors considered in the thesis. The discussion covered conceptual and theoretical aspects and contributions as well as the practical solutions that were proposed in order to expand the economic relationship with the African continent.
Special thanks is owed to the United Nations University-FLORES and to UNIDO ITPO Germany who financed the research project.
The chair of energy economics warmly congratulate Mr Schneider on the successful completion of his doctoral project!
