New publication: "International technology transfer to Africa in light of the SDGs: What do we know about the barriers?"
The recently published article by Christian P. Schneider, Edeltraud Günther and Dominik Möst looks at the importance of international technology transfer (ITT) as a means of bridging the gap between developed and developing countries, particularly in the context of African states facing the impacts of climate change.
In order to identify the barriers to successful ITT in the African context, 73 relevant texts were systematically analyzed. The results show that while there is extensive knowledge on various aspects of ITT, the discussion often neglects the specifics related to governance aspects and institutional structures. Foreign innovations should therefore be adapted to the conditions of the African continent in order to effectively mitigate the effects of climate change.
