REFLEX Project Meeting in Krakow
REFLEX Project Meeting in Krakow
The REFLEX project partners recently got together for a project meeting from May 8 – 9, 2018 at AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The consortium discussed the work progress within the project as well as results from the reference scenario. In a working session the researchers from different European countries talked about legal issues of open data access and how to disseminate the results beyond the project’s end. Special focus was given to the model coupling and model run schedule for the policy scenarios. Other topics, which were discussed within the meeting, were the REFLEX Storyline for the final project report and next steps for each work package.
Within the REFLEX project the consortium analyses and evaluates the development towards a low-carbon energy system with focus on flexibility options in the European Union up to the year 2050 to support a better system integration of renewable energy sources. New technologies and innovations are necessary to address the challenges, having the (future) competitiveness of technologies as well as their social and environmental impacts in mind. The project supports the scientific foundation for the implementation of the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) of the European Commission by strengthening the knowledge base for decision-making, concerning feasibility, effectiveness, costs and impacts of related measures and options. As a result, effective strategies for a transition to an efficient low-carbon energy system will be identified.
The project started on May 1, 2016 and receives funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 691685.
