Veronika Brooks presented her work “Cycling Constraints Matter: Modeling Operational Limits of Underground Hydrogen Storage,” which focuses on modeling operational constraints in underground hydrogen storage.
In the special session “Built for Everyone: Open Models, AI, and Transparent Energy Infrastructure Planning,” Felix Fliegner discussed the societal benefits of open data from the perspective of a transmission system operator in his practical presentation titled “In the Interest of Society: A TSO Perspective on Open Source and Open Data.” He then demonstrated how open planning approaches can be implemented in practice in “Realistic Routing for Offshore Grids: Linking Maritime Spatial Planning with Expansion Planning, ” which methodically linked maritime spatial planning with grid expansion planning.
The third presentation was delivered by Dimitrios Glynos, Hannes Findeisen, and Dominik Möst as part of the MUST project, titled “Ad Hoc Exclusion of Critical Network Elements in European Coordinated Congestion Management.”
Outlook: EEM27 Will Be Held in Dresden
The conference concluded on a festive note with Prof. Dominik Möst’s official announcement of the next edition: The 23rd International Conference on the European Energy Market (EEM27) will be hosted in 2027 by the Chair of Energy Economics at TUD Dresden University of Technology.
By hosting EEM27, the Chair assumes responsibility for one of the most established international conferences in the field of European energy markets. For over two decades, the EEM has provided a forum for exchange among academia, industry, and policymakers on key issues related to market design, market integration, regulation, and the technological and digital transformation of the energy system. The Chair looks forward to welcoming the international research community to Dresden next year and continuing the expert dialogue on the pressing challenges of the European energy transition.
