Conference Logistics Management 2023
On September 13 and 14, the 13th Logistics Management Conference (LM 2023) took place at the TU Dresden. The focus was on supply chain management, transportation, mobility, and supply chain operations. The organizer of this conference is the Scientific Commission for Logistics of the German Academic Association of Business Research (VHB). After the conference took place only online two years ago due to the Corona pandemic, the organizing team around Jörn Schönberger (Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences), Rainer Lasch, Janis Neufeld, and Udo Buscher (all Faculty of Business and Economics) could welcome their guests in the Hülsse-Bau of the TU Dresden.
More than 80 scientists followed a total of 42 talks, which were held in two or three parallel sessions. The program was enriched by the plenary talks of Mr. Helmut Prieschenk, Managing Director from Witron Logistik + Informatik GmbH, and Prof. Mike Hewitt from Loyola University Chicago. All accepted papers were published in the book series "Lecture Notes in Logistics (LNL)" published by Springer-Verlag.
The successful conclusion of the conference was the conference dinner in the restaurant "Carolaschlösschen" in the Großer Garten. Before the buffet, the Best Paper Award was handed out, which was sponsored for the third time by the DHL Hub Leipzig. Darleen Dolch and Rainer Lasch from the TU Dresden received the award for their paper "Energy-Efficient Production Scheduling: Insides from Academia and Practice".
The chair gave three presentations at the conference:
- Pricing and Greening Level Decisions in a Two-Stage Hydrogen Supply Chain Considering State Subsidies and Taxes (Presenter: Maria Beranek)
- Lot Streaming in Hybrid Flow Shop Manufacturing Systems (Presenter: Janis Neufeld)
- Data-driven identification and quantification of influencing factors for robust planning in rail passenger transport (Presenter: Stefan Hocke)
