Dresden Science Night 2026 - Hands-On Combinatorial Optimization
Our chair successfully participated in the Dresden Long Night of Science on 26 June 2026.
Once again, our interactive exhibits on combinatorial optimization attracted considerable interest. Visitors explored different packing problems by playing Ubongo and Katamino. Another station challenged participants to find the shortest possible tour through up to 30 German cities, illustrating the Traveling Salesman Problem. In addition, visitors used colored LEGO DUPLO bricks to assign jobs to machines as efficiently as possible, providing a hands-on introduction to machine scheduling.
Further information is available in our Streamlit-App.
Our chair's team was once again supported by our student assistants Maria Götting and Anthony Eckl, whose help was invaluable throughout the event. Thank you both for your commitment and support!
