Successful completion of the project for vehicle routing with integrated 3D loading optimization

Together with the partner WITRON Logistik + Informatik GmbH, the chair is pleased to announce the successful completion of the project Vehicle routing with integrated 3D loading optimization.
An algorithmic solution for decision support has been developed, which generates alternative planning proposals to better support dispatchers in operational planning. The algorithmic solution guarantees the compliance with numerous practice-relevant planning specifications of vehicle routing, e.g., several time windows, order splitting, and a heterogeneous fleet, as well as loading optimization, e.g., stackability, fragility, and LIFO unloading. A parameterizable cost function allows dispatchers to specify their planning preferences and generate multiple cost-effective route plan proposals in seconds. By saving time in planning, dispatchers can focus more on other value adding tasks.
