Visiting Tongji University in Shanghai
Udo Buscher recently joined a delegation visit to Tongji University in Shanghai, supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and initiated by Prof. Dr. Axel Werwatz. Together with colleagues from German universities, the group spent an inspiring week in Shanghai to deepen academic collaboration and exchange ideas on current research topics.
As part of a workshop on supply chain management, Udo Buscher shared some insights with his talk on the topic “Analysing a Green Hydrogen Supply Chain in the Steel Industry with a Bi-level Approach”. Jan Harder, Vice-Director of the Chinese-German College (CDHK), also provided exciting updates on initiatives to further expand student and doctoral exchange programs between Germany and China.
A particularly nice moment was catching up with Alexander Blume, research associate at our chair, who is currently spending three months at Tongji University. Supported by a Tongji scholarship, he is working with Qiang Su on analyzing Chinese cement supply chains.
Many thanks to Prof. Dr. Guanwei Huang for organizing a fantastic program, from engaging academic exchange to cultural highlights such as a city tour, the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, a Huangpu river cruise, the Oriental Pearl Tower, and several wonderful dinners.
We are also grateful to all hosts and partners for the warm welcome, valuable discussions, and the shared commitment to further strengthening the academic bridge between Germany and China.
