🍇 Science meets wine culture - an educational day on the Saxon Wine Trail 🍇

As part of our Chair's team event, we explored the Saxon Wine Trail together - with the aim of gaining professional insights and promoting interdisciplinary exchange.

In addition to a guided hike through the picturesque vineyards, the program included a comprehensive introduction to regional viticulture. An expert tasting of Saxon wines awaited us in the Besenschänke, complemented by fascinating explanations of the special features of the region's vines:

✔️ the special features of the regional grape varieties
✔️ the grape harvest and wine bottling process
✔️ the challenges of climate change and the implementation of modern plant protection measures - e.g. the use of drone technology in steep-slope viticulture

The day was rounded off with a joint dinner, where we were able to deepen our impressions and exchange further ideas.

A successful day with our team - characterized by new insights, valuable discussions and a look beyond the scientific horizon. 🍷💡
