Exciting Times at the 33rd EURO Conference in Copenhagen!
We're excited that our chair was represented at the 33rd European Conference on Operational Research (EURO) in Copenhagen, which brought together 3000 academics from all over the world! Professor Rainer Lasch and Martin Schönheit had the honor of presenting our latest research on scheduling problems in distributed permutation flow shops.
The conference was exceptionally well-organized, thanks to Dario Pacino and his team at Technical University of Denmark (DTU). In addition, the event featured inspiring keynotes, such as Pedro Amorim’s talk on empirically driven operation research in retail, and fascinating plenaries, including Pascal van Hentenryck’s presentation on the fusion of machine learning.
A notable highlight was Ruben Ruiz’s keynote "Optimal is the Enemy of Good", which advocated for more flexible, maintainable, and straightforward solution approaches for practical problems.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the organizers for hosting such a fantastic event and to everyone we connected with for the engaging conversations. We look forward to seeing you next year in Leeds!
PS: If you are in Copenhagen and love pizza, Leo's Pizza is an excellent place to go!
