A basic requirement for the findings as well as developed methods and tools, which were found during the research activities of the chair, is the practical application in daily business. Significant experience in designing customized solutions for companies in the areas of industry, transport and logistics are already available at the chair. The chair owner supports together with his scientific staff the transfer of this knowledge and know-how in the stages of requirements analysis, design, and implementation. In consulting projects, companies gain by the actuality and development of science-based solutions. Simultaneously, the practicality of the research results can thus be traced.

Mission oriented research

If an enterprise or organization has the desire to collect and elaborate information about a subject area, time-limited research projects can be justified. These are partly funded by the practice partners. The chair is responsible for resources and know-how as well as organizing and carrying out research. In particular, surveys, market studies and basic research about determining factors of entrepreneurial activity and strategy development can be applied.

Funded projects

The comprehensive scientific processing of a strategic subject area requires a long-term cooperation. The chair develops a research plan together with interested companies. It is beneficial if the general working conditions such as project participants, research infrastructure and assets are specifically designed and used for the project's success. For example, additional scientific staff may be employed who exclusively edit project tasks and have the opportunity to graduate within this framework. The period of a research collaboration between a company and the chair is usually 3 years. Within this time, exploitable results are already present. An intense regular exchange between the chair and the company in the processing phase ensures a direct transfer of results.
