Guidelines for business cooperation’s
To ensure a smooth processing of theses, which are made in cooperation with private companies, several points must be considered.
- It is necessary to ensure that the student has access to relevant information about the company. It is important to clarify in each individual case whether the data for reasons of data protection remains within the company or is given to the student in a slightly distorted form.
- The processing time of work of four months starts with the registration of the theses at the examination office.
- The grading of the work is carried out by two professors of the TU Dresden in accordance with the respective examination regulations.
The above guidelines are only a selection. In each case, a research agreement is completed between the company and the TU Dresden.
Students who plan a thesis in collaboration with a company, therefore should contact the future supervisor of the thesis at the earliest possible.
Master´s Degree
The involvement of students in the handling of specific logistical tasks in the company or in the company's development projects can be conducted in the framework of a master thesis. The benefit for the company is mainly found in the introduction of current subject-specific knowledge and science-based methods. From a scientific approach, the aim is that the students independently develop solutions to practical problems as well as suggestions for their implementation. Together with the scientific advisors of the chair and according to the requirements of the company a topic is designed which is matching practical objectives and scientific methods. The processing time is about 4 months.
Case study seminars with an empirical orientation
In the winter semester, the program schedule respectively includes a case study seminar. The accomplishment of the tasks is realized in small groups of three students with the help of intensive support. Possible topics are derived from general planning problems in the supply chain or current practical issues and developments. Besides, analyzing interesting questions from a business perspective can also be seen as smaller market research.
