CONTENT
In the summer semester, we offer a seminar as part of the Methodical Basics module (MA-WW-MG or D-WW-MG) called "Current Methods of Logistics Research".
The maximum number of participants for this seminar is 14 students who work on a topic in groups of two. The seminar focuses on various methods that are particularly relevant in logistics research. The groups are given the task of comprehensively and critically examining a method assigned to them in the introductory event and of writing a seminar paper of around 30 pages. In terms of content, this includes:
- the presentation and description of the method from a theoretical point of view
- the evaluation of strengths and weaknesses or advantages and disadvantages
- Possible uses
- the evaluation of representative sample papers (at least 3) and their comparison
The elaborations are presented in the form of a block event in lectures of 30 minutes per group. Each group prepares a handout of one or two pages that summarizes the essential aspects and also includes literature recommendations. The aim is therefore to get a comprehensive overview, which should support the participants in selecting suitable methods - e.g. in the context of the thesis or future research concerns.
