TU Dresden launches Germany-wide study on CO₂ management in construction companies
The Chair of Management Accounting & Control at TU Dresden has launched a Germany-wide study on CO₂ management in construction companies. The aim of the project is to better understand how companies record, control and report their emissions today - and which hurdles or success factors play a role in this. The construction industry is at the center of numerous climate protection requirements, but at the same time many companies lack a clear orientation as to which methods and instruments really prove themselves in everyday life. This is precisely where the study comes in: It aims to paint a realistic picture of current practice and provide starting points for practical improvements.
The project team is already receiving initial questions from the industry, which we are happy to address in this context: Many companies want to know why their participation is valuable. The answer: the more diverse the perspectives within the industry, the more precisely patterns, challenges and workable solutions can be identified. On request, participating companies also receive a free benchmark report that shows how they compare with other companies in the sector. This overview can provide valuable orientation, especially against the backdrop of new reporting obligations and increasing client expectations.
The study is aimed at people who are responsible for controlling, finance, environmental or sustainability issues in their company. No specialist prior knowledge of CO₂ accounting is required; rather, we are interested in actual practice in all its forms - from established structures to companies that are just getting into the topic.
Support our research and help us to develop a differentiated and practical picture of CO₂ management in the construction industry. Participation is now possible.
The Chair's research team will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
