The Professorship of Organisation at the EGOS Colloquium 2023
The Professorship of Organization participated in the annual conference of the European Group for Organisation Studies (EGOS) from July 6 to 8. This year the conference took place in Cagliari, the capital of the Italian island Sardinia. The team of the professorship presented recent research papers in three different sub-themes of the conference.
In Subtheme 43: Imagining Roles in New Forms of Strategizing and Organizing, Sophia Bittner-Zähr presented an empirical paper entitled "Becoming Strong: New role identity development in organizational opening processes." The paper deals with changes in organizational roles during opening processes.
Chris Schäfer and Prof. Blagoev presented a paper entitled "Transformation or Consolidation: On the impact of digital technology on sustainability" in Subtheme 06: Performing the Future communicatively: How what does not yet exist already makes a difference.
Prof. Blagoev presented a paper in Subtheme 10: Shaping Desirable Futures - Imagining (Real) Utopias entitled "Crafting collective food futures or drifting apart? Temporal uncoupling, entrainment, and harmonization in sustainable food entrepreneurship." The paper is produced in collaboration with co-author Patricia Helena Hein (Ivey Business School, Canada).
Lena Rieck presented the paper "Organizing research in times of grand challenges: Building capabilities for dynamic hybridization in institutionally complex research environments" as part of PDW 03: Societal Grand Challenges, Communication, and Performativity, which is co-authored with Prof. Blagoy Blagoev and Prof. Edeltraud Günther.
