Writing Days
In the hustle and bustle of the semester, your own research can sometimes take a back seat faster than you’d like. Between teaching, meetings, emails, and administrative tasks, there’s often less time for focused writing than planned. That’s exactly why we want to create dedicated space for this with our Writing Days.
Over the course of three mornings, we’d like to work together on our research projects with full focus and consciously set aside time for writing. Everyone who is working on an academic project and would like to make significant progress on a paper, dissertation, research grant proposal, or other research text is invited to join us.
To kick things off, we’ll start with a brief group introduction, discuss our plans, and set specific individual writing goals for the Writing Days. After that, the focus will be on one thing above all else: working intently on our own projects. During these focused writing sessions, we aim to minimize distractions, be productive together, and make progress step by step. At the end of the Writing Days, we’ll come together one last time to reflect on the goals we set and reflect on what we’ve accomplished over the three mornings.
Ideally, you’ll participate in all three mornings so that you can use the Writing Days as a continuous work period. However, if your schedule doesn’t allow for that, you’re of course also welcome to join us on individual days.
If you’re interested, please contact Sonja Olbing () and let us know which days you’d like to participate and whether you’ll need an external monitor to work on. (If you need a monitor, we’ll do our best to arrange one for you.)
We look forward to three productive mornings, mutual motivation, and above all, to consciously making space for our own research!
