Research fields
The need for companies to develop, offer and maintain innovative digital services and products such as data analytics for internal and external customers is constantly increasing. The associated challenges are motivation for our research. In particular, the characteristics of data analytics, such as the required integration of big data and machine learning functionalities, yiel challenges for developling such systems. As data analytics applications should enable data-driven decision making, their development and implementation involves a high degree of interactions and interdependencies between the developers, the application itself, and the potential users.
The research projects of the junior professorship are shaped by industry, especially by collaborations with companies and exchange with different employees. Thus, the research projects are based on data sets collected at various companies, e.g. international software vendors or IT departments of international companies. We are always interested in new company cooperations in order to promote knowledge transfer and, in particular, to be able to contribute practice-oriented and relevant research results.
