From September 24th to 26th, 2025, five doctoral students from the junior professorship: Varun Gurugubelli, Vilja Lange, Emma Lloyd, Magdalena Müller and Sabrina Schmidt, took part in the annual conference of the Scientific Commission for Sustainability Management (NAMA) of the Association of University Teachers of Business Administration (VHB) in the European Capital of Culture - Chemnitz.
Four of the participants arrived on Wednesday afternoon to participate in the doctoral consortium. There, everyone briefly presented their doctoral projects and then engaged in discussions with other doctoral students and experienced professors on topics related to doctoral studies and academic work.
On the following day, the first day of the conference, all five participants attended numerous presentations on various topics related to current sustainability research, and four of the participants presented their current research projects and received valuable feedback from an expert audience. Following a keynote presentation by Lichtenauer's sustainability manager, the conference dinner in the heart of Chemnitz rounded off an eventful day of conference activities. On the way home, participants were able to admire a light show illuminating Chemnitz landmarks such as the "Nischel" and the Red Tower.
On the last day of NAMA, our team was able to gather feedback one last time with the fifth of five research presentations from the junior professorship team.
We are grateful for a content-rich and networking-rich conference and are already looking forward to the next NAMA, which will take place in Düsseldorf in 2026.
