New publication in 'Elsevier Journal of Cleaner Production'

We are very happy to share our paper on sustainability assessment, now published in the Elsevier Journal of Cleaner Production:

Vertical farming has the potential to enhance food security, but how well do current assessments capture its sustainability? We systematically reviewed 92 studies and found a strong focus on environmental indicators—while social and economic aspects and key trade-offs remain underexplored.

Together with her co-authors Edeltraud Guenther, Daniel Karthe and Juliane Dziumla, Samanthi Dijkstra-Silva propose a novel approach from a #Nexus perspective that extends sustainability assessments for vertical farming by integrating spatial and temporal factors. This offers a more holistic and context-specific perspective.
