New “Nature” publication: Meta-study on reproducibility of empirical research in social science
Dr. Andreas Leibing has contributed to a meta-study published in Nature – the world’s leading multidisciplinary science journal – as part of a large international replication project. The publication “Reproducibility and robustness of economics and political science research” (Brodeur, Cook, Mikola et al., 2026, Nature 652, 8108, pp. 151–156) brings together the work of more than 300 co-authors and systematically examines the reproducibility of empirical research in economics and political science. The study is the cover story of this Nature issue.
The replication work by Dr. Leibing and his co-authors (Barschkett et al.) was already published in 2023 in the Journal of Comments and Replications in Economics (JCRE): "Long-term Effects of Measles Vaccination on Earnings: A Replication".
