Two researchers from China visiting the faculty for a year
In October, we welcome two guest researchers from China at the faculty. Yan Bu and Tao Song will conduct research on environmental and energy topics at the Chair of Business Administration, especially Energy Economics and the Chair of Economics, especially Environmental, Urban and Regional Economics. Both researchers were successful with an application within the China Scholarship Council Program.
Yan Bu is a doctoral student at the Environmental Management School of Economics and Management at Dalian University of Technology.
Together with Prof. Dr. Dominik Möst and his team he will work on the question of how the energy transition in China can succeed. For this purpose, the effects of a switch to higher shares of renewable energies on the power system will be analyzed with the help of a regionally higher-resolution bottom-up modeling. In addition, the effects of population migration on electricity demand, both in absolute terms and spatially, will play an important role in the analysis.
Tao Song (Ph.D.) comes from the Sichuan Agricultural University. Together with Prof. Dr. Artem Korzhenevych, he will conduct research on current issues of sustainable regional economic development. In particular, data from Chinese companies will be used.
