Information Systems Offshoring
Outsourcing IT-related activities to low-wage countries is a phenomenon that has been observable in practice for a number of years and is increasingly generating interest among German companies. However, offshoring IS services is by no means as widespread in German-speaking countries as in English-speaking ones. It is also noticeable that IS outsourcing is now already a mature area of research, while IS offshoring is as yet far from being investigated in comparable depth.
The research project, which is explorative in nature, is therefore examining questions that address the prerequisites and design options for outsourcing activities and support the identification of success factors.
