Successful disputation on "Smartness in the Manufacturing Industry: Smart machines and non-ownership business models"

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Philipp Scharfe successfully defended his thesis on “Smartness in the Manufacturing Industry: Smart Machines and Non-Ownership Business Models” in the ballroom of the Hülßebau at TU Dresden.

Current developments show that smart and expensive machines are increasingly being sold using the non-ownership business model. Philipp Scharfe examined this development in the manufacturing industry as part of his dissertation and, among other things, investigated the question of whether the presence or absence of certain factors in different combinations leads to the use of this business model.
