Research paper and presentation at ItAIS and MCIS in Catanzaro (Italy)

The 19th conference of the Italian Chapter of AIS and the 14th Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems were held this year as a joint conference in Catanzaro, Italy, from October 14 to 15, 2022. This conference brought together researchers from the Mediterranien and – increasingly – from around the world, to present and discuss latest research in the field of information systems.

At this conference our chair presented two papers by our doctoral canidate Philipp Scharfe.

The first paper Data-driven Failure Management: An Ontology-based Speech Recognition App for Failure Capturing in Manufacturing Processes presents the results of the project LeanBi4ProdLog, which our chair worked on from 2020 to 2022 together with the Institute of Material Handling and Industrial Engineering at TU Dresden. This paper follows a design science research approach to design, develop, and evaluate a novel ontology-based speech recognition app for failure capturing in manufacturing processes.

The second paper Characterizing Smartness in the Manufacturing Domain: Literature Review and Development of a Classification Framework presents a classification fromework that characterizes the smartness of devices, systems, and services in the manufacturing domain.
