Great success at ECIS 2023: two awards and five research presentations in Kristiansand (Norway)
This year's European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2023) was epic! Having recently celebrated the success of getting all submitted manuscripts accepted (see also: https://tu-dresden.de/bu/wirtschaft/winf/wibe/die-professur/news/grosser-erfolg-fuer-die-professur-alle-einreichungen-zur-ecis-2023-akzeptiert?set_language=en), two accepted submissions were now also honored with Best Paper Awards:
Best Paper Award: Alizadeh, Armin; Hirsch, Felix; Benlian, Alexander; Wiener, Martin; and Cram, W. Alec, "Perceived Algorithmic Control: Conceptualization and Scale Development" (2023).
2nd Runner up: Fischer, Hannes; Wiener, Martin; and Strahringer, Susanne, "Embarking on the Digital Transformation Journey Toward a Data-Driven Organization: Empirical Insights Into Transformation Starting Points" (2023).
Following the conference theme "Co-Creating Sustainable Digital Futures", thus calling for inter-disciplinary and engaged research, apart from presenting our own research, we had the chance to listen to lots of interesting presentations. We leave the conference with the impression that first, artificial intelligence is a definitely the topic that dominates information systems research currently and second, that our research topics, consisting of algorithmic management, algorithmic control and digital transformation highly cover these discussions of this digital future.
We want to thank all our co-authors that helped guiding us through the paper creation process and to reach this outstanding result, as well as the listeners of our presentations, who showed interest in our work and provided us some valuable feedback. We are now looking forward to ECIS 2024. Stay tuned!
