Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer receives AIS Leadership Team Award
In a virtual ceremony on January 19, 2026, Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer (Chair of Business Information Systems, esp. Information Systems in Industry and Trade) was presented with the AIS Leadership Team Award by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). The award recognizes the exceptional dedication of individuals to advancing the mission and values of the association.
The laudatory address was delivered by AIS President-Elect Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke, who highlighted Prof. Strahringer’s manifold and outstanding contributions to the national and international Information Systems (IS) community. In particular, he emphasized her sustained commitment to strengthening diversity and collaboration within the field. Among her most notable contributions is Prof. Strahringer’s multi-year tenure as spokesperson of the German-speaking IS community (WKWI), during which she coordinated, among other things, the comprehensive revamp of the journal rating of the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB Publication Media Rating 2024) from an IS perspective—a project of major significance for research evaluation and academic development. In addition, she was a co-initiator of the Women in IS network, an initiative that offers mentoring, workshops, and other events aimed at supporting and promoting female IS researchers.
The Business Information Systems research group at TU Dresden, together with the entire Faculty of Business and Economics, warmly congratulates Prof. Dr. Susanne Strahringer on this prestigious international recognition. The AIS Leadership Team Award not only honors her personal commitment and outstanding contributions, but also underscores her strong engagement in shaping the future of the IS discipline in Germany and beyond.
