Research article published in Information Systems Research (ISR)
In their article ("Moving IS Project Control Research into the Digital Era"), Martin Wiener and his co-authors (Magnus Mähring, Ulrich Remus, Carol Saunders, and Alec Cram) argue that our current understanding of information systems (IS) project control has not kept pace with the dramatic changes ushered in by the digital era, where digital innovation and transformation are top priorities for organizations and where collaborative value creation is prevalent. Against this backdrop, they introduce the concept of control purpose and stress the need for broadening control activities to encompass and balance the two control purposes of value appropriation and value creation.
The article has been published in the December 2019 issue of Information Systems Research (ISR) -- one of the leading journals in the information systems discipline (VHB-JOURQUAL3: A+).
