Final results – Collaboration in the Virtual Classroom in Summer Semester 2021
Finally, the intensive collaboration between students from Iran's Shiraz University and from the TU Dresden, the seminar, which follows the established VCL (Virtual Collaborative Learning) framework from the chair of Information Management comes to a successful end. Participants had been working the last two months on the case study about the gas and oil industry and developed a project proposal with sustainable and green energy solutions for the MENA region in the solar sector. Through the several phases of their preperation of the proposal, they have been pedagogically supervised by qualified e-tutors.
The first phase was about team building, followed by generating a common onotology and the first pitch presentation to experts. The feedback was then integrated into the following tasks. After going through a decision-making dilemma and getting to know Virtual Labs, the final project proposals could be finalized and presented to the plenum in the final pitch.
After the successful presentation and final comments from the experts there was a networking session in a Virtual Lounge on Gather.town. There participants and experts could once again take a look at the presentations, walk around and talk to experts and other participants. All members had the possibility to network together and have a discussion in an informal setting and exchange their thoughts on the project.
The CVC 2021 module has completed the virtual phase, now the groups reflect their individual experiences in the module and what remains are the memories of interesting conversations and intensive, interdisciplinary collaboration in a virtual environment.
This 68th virtual collaborative learning (VCL) project was object for evaluation, standardisation and dissemination by the TUD-COIIILresearch project (TU Dresden - collaborative international, interdisciplinary & intercultural learning), funded by the DAAD IVAC program (international virtual academic collaboration).
