Abstract
Motivation und Zielstellung
Die steigende Bedeutung von Wissen als Wettbewerbsfaktor macht Wissensmanagement
als zielgerichtete, systematische Gestaltung von Wissensprozessen zunehmend wichtiger.
Dies gilt besonders für kleine und mittlere Unternehmen (KMU), die aufgrund einer häu-
fig begrenzten Ressourcenlage besonders abhängig von der optimalen Ausnutzung ihrer
organisationalen Wissensbasis sind. Trotzdem beschränkt sich ein Großteil der Forschung
zum Thema Wissensmanagement auf größere Unternehmen, oft ohne die Besonderheiten
von KMU im Umgang mit Wissen zu berücksichtigen. Gleichzeitig stellen kleine gegen-
über mittleren Unternehmen nicht zwangsläufig die gleichen Anforderungen an Wissens-
management, wobei es vor allem die Transformation zwischen diesen beiden Stufen zu
betrachten gilt. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, am Beispiel eines Unternehmens im Über-
gang vom kleinen zum mittleren Unternehmen den besonderen Einfluss von Wachstum
auf die Anforderungen und Umsetzung von Wissensmanagement zu untersuchen.
Vorgehensweise
Die Grundlage der Arbeit stellt eine Fallstudie bei der TraceTronic GmbH als mittel-
ständiges Unternehmen dar. Mittels leitfadengestützter Experteninterviews mit zentralen
Mitarbeitern des Unternehmens wurden relevante Anforderungen an Wissensmanagement
abgeleitet. Davon ausgehend wurde der Fokus hauptsächlich auf die technische Dimensi-
on des Wissensmanagements gelegt und die Eignung der Software Microsoft SharePoint
Server Standard 2013 zur Erfüllung dieser Anforderungen untersucht. Im letzten Schritt
wurden auf Basis der gewonnenen Ergebnisse und der relevanten Literatur Handlungs-
empfehlungen an das Fallstudienunternehmen zum Einsatz von SharePoint abgeleitet.
Ergebnisse und Implikationen
Die identifizierten Anforderungen entsprechen teilweise den Anforderungen großer Unter-
nehmen, sind dabei jedoch zusätzlich durch die Problematiken fehlender Ressourcen und

untergeordneter Priorität gekennzeichnet. SharePoint hat sich als sehr mächtige Softwa-
re erwiesen, die zwar viele der gestellten Anforderungen erfüllen kann, dabei aber unter
Umständen zu komplex für ein KMU sein kann. Die Sammlung von Ideen als Handlungs-
empfehlungen für das Fallstudienunternehmen soll daher durch konkrete Anwendungsfälle
und Lösungsmöglichkeiten bei der Einführung und Nutzung der Software als Wissensma-
nagementsystem unterstützen.
Limitationen in der Bearbeitung resultieren vor allem aus der persönlichen Mitarbeit der
Autorin im Unternehmen, sodass eine kritische Distanz nicht immer vollständig gewähr-
leistet werden konnte. Die Arbeit könnte als Grundlage für weitere Arbeiten dienen, die
sich unter anderem mit der langfristigen Evaluation der Software und Handlungsempfeh-
lungen im Unternehmen beschäftigen. Zudem könnte die Untersuchung unter Einbezie-
hung ähnlicher Fallbeispiele zur Konstruktion einer theoretischen Fallstudie zum Wissens-
management in wachsenden KMU genutzt werden.

über mittleren Unternehmen nicht zwangsläufig die gleichen Anforderungen an Wissens-
management, wobei es vor allem die Transformation zwischen diesen beiden Stufen zu
betrachten gilt. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es daher, am Beispiel eines Unternehmens im Über-
gang vom kleinen zum mittleren Unternehmen den besonderen Einfluss von Wachstum
auf die Anforderungen und Umsetzung von Wissensmanagement zu untersuchen.
Vorgehensweise
Die Grundlage der Arbeit stellt eine Fallstudie bei der TraceTronic GmbH als mittel-
ständiges Unternehmen dar. Mittels leitfadengestützter Experteninterviews mit zentralen
Mitarbeitern des Unternehmens wurden relevante Anforderungen an Wissensmanagement
abgeleitet. Davon ausgehend wurde der Fokus hauptsächlich auf die technische Dimensi-
on des Wissensmanagements gelegt und die Eignung der Software Microsoft SharePoint
Server Standard 2013 zur Erfüllung dieser Anforderungen untersucht. Im letzten Schritt
wurden auf Basis der gewonnenen Ergebnisse und der relevanten Literatur Handlungs-
empfehlungen an das Fallstudienunternehmen zum Einsatz von SharePoint abgeleitet.
Ergebnisse und Implikationen
Die identifizierten Anforderungen entsprechen teilweise den Anforderungen großer Unter-
nehmen, sind dabei jedoch zusätzlich durch die Problematiken fehlender Ressourcen und

untergeordneter Priorität gekennzeichnet. SharePoint hat sich als sehr mächtige Softwa-
re erwiesen, die zwar viele der gestellten Anforderungen erfüllen kann, dabei aber unter
Umständen zu komplex für ein KMU sein kann. Die Sammlung von Ideen als Handlungs-
empfehlungen für das Fallstudienunternehmen soll daher durch konkrete Anwendungsfälle
und Lösungsmöglichkeiten bei der Einführung und Nutzung der Software als Wissensma-
nagementsystem unterstützen.
Limitationen in der Bearbeitung resultieren vor allem aus der persönlichen Mitarbeit der
Autorin im Unternehmen, sodass eine kritische Distanz nicht immer vollständig gewähr-
leistet werden konnte. Die Arbeit könnte als Grundlage für weitere Arbeiten dienen, die
sich unter anderem mit der langfristigen Evaluation der Software und Handlungsempfeh-
lungen im Unternehmen beschäftigen. Zudem könnte die Untersuchung unter Einbezie-
hung ähnlicher Fallbeispiele zur Konstruktion einer theoretischen Fallstudie zum Wissens-
management in wachsenden KMU genutzt werden.
