Summer University at CRTD
On July 9, 2019, the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) welcomed curious students within the TU Dresden Summer University. "Stem cells & sensory organs" - this was the motto under which the girls familiarised themselves with retinal research, regeneration in the inner ear and olfactory cells in the nose.
The aim of the Summer University is to support young people in their choice of profession and studies, especially in the MINT field (mathematics, informatics, natural sciences and technology). Within one week, they get to know various research institutions at the TU Dresden in gender-homogeneous groups, i.e. detached from common gender concepts. The students inform themselves about different job profiles: At the CRTD they met employees who work as postdocs and laboratory technicians or who complete a voluntary social year. And, of course, they gained insights into the three international English-language Master's courses offered by the TUD Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering (CMCB): Molecular Bioengineering, Nanobiophysics and Regenerative Biology and Medicine.
