Teaming up for sports: Dresden University Sports Center and the City of Dresden join forces
The Dresden University Sports Center (DHSZ) and the state capital Dresden will work closely together as partners in the future. The overarching goals of the cooperation are the joint marketing of Dresden as a university location, Dresden as a city of sports, and the promotion and advancement of the regional sports culture, in particular university sports.
To this end, the partners along with the Chancellors of TUD Dresden University of Technology and the University of Applied Sciences Dresden (HTW Dresden) signed a cooperation agreement in the ballroom of TU Dresden’s University Executive Board on September 26, 2024. The core elements of the agreement are the infrastructural development of sports in Dresden, regional sports funding, events, and joint public relations activities.
The Dresden University Sports Center (DHSZ) is a joint central unit of TUD Dresden University of Technology and the University of Applied Sciences Dresden. A further seven state and Christian universities in Dresden are affiliated with the DHSZ and use its services. More than 20,000 participants take part in the wide range of sports and health programs every year.
