The Centre for Translational Bone, Joint and Soft Tissue Research was founded end of 2010 as central scientific unit of University Hospital Dresden and the Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus of Dresden University of Technology (Technische Universität Dresden).
Its mission is the unification and strengthening of the experimental research of the three departments of Orthopaedics, Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery (integrated to the University Centre for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery) and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The Centre to which actually around 40 scientists, PhD students and technicians are belonging is located in its own labs in house 111 (Abakus) of the Medical Faculty.
