GAIN23 & Alumni Meeting in Boston
The TU Dresden team talked to researchers at the annual conference of the German Academic International Network (GAIN) in Boston about career prospects at TUD. Dr. Hendrik Strobelt, a TU Dresden alumnus, joined Dr. Mridul Agrawal of iuvendo Health as a speaker at the workshop "From Lab to Leadership: The Importance of Good Leadership in Science" led by Angela Böhm (Graduate Academy/Postdoc Center).
The TUD Alumni Office organized a luncheon with TUD alumni from Boston and the surrounding area prior to the conference. TUD Rector Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger, Peter Rosenbaum, Director of the International Office, and Angela Böhm (Graduate Academy) gave a brief overview of recent developments at TUD.
“We were very impressed by the commitment and professional careers of our alumni. After our last alumni meeting in New York in April 2023, this meeting in Boston also showed us the extraordinarily strong presence of TU Dresden alumni on the US East Coast. In addition to being a Regional Ambassador, many alumni expressed a desire to be involved in other Alumni Office activities, such as mentoring or speaking at career workshops for students," said Rosenbaum.
"It was a great pleasure attending the alumni lunch meeting in Boston. For me, the meeting was an outstanding success, providing the opportunity to connect with alumni from so many disciplines and backgrounds – a truly enriching experience. Also, it was fascinating for me to learn from Prof. Dr. Staudinger about the many projects, initiatives, partnerships, and collaborations of the TU Dresden. Overall, I was very impressed and highly energized by the conversations I had and certainly would like to stay in further contact. Many thanks to Prof. Dr. Staudinger for taking the time to meet with us and thanks to the team who helped organize the meeting and ‚finding‘ me as an alumnus of the TU Dresden.”
