Headache prevention "Headache Hurts"
Headache prevention for students and young adults
In Germany, about two-thirds of students suffer from headaches. It’s about time that something was done about this!
Students and young adults are typically seen as a relatively healthy portion of the population, but complaints of headaches and other health issues that could have to do with tension headaches, such as back, shoulder or neck pain, are strikingly common. “Incorrect” strategies for dealing with stress often tend to be a trigger – and a loss of motivation or diminishing quality of work can be the consequences.
Headache Hurts – a guide
But it needn’t come to this. The Headache Hurts program shows you what you can do to combat headaches and migraines.
The Headache Hurts guide offers readers scientifically corroborated information on the most widespread headache disorders and how to prevent them. Over the course of 60 pages, you will find out which psychological processes cause headaches and how they can be effectively prevented on a day-to-day basis. A rapid test enables you to identify the type of headache you are likely experiencing and a headache calendar enables you to document their symptoms to prepare for doctors’ visits.

It enables users to document relevant behavior patterns daily and clearly illustrates the areas in which improvements can be made. To this end, the app enables users’ entries and can remind them of effective preventive measures. By exporting entries in the form of a medical report, users can aid their doctors in reaching a precise diagnosis. All information provided by users is permanently stored locally on their mobile device.
“Progressive muscle relaxation” recording
Headache Hurts also provides a 10-minute audio recording to help with progressive muscle relaxation following the Jacobson method, which can easily be integrated into listeners’ daily routines. Progressive muscle relaxation has proven particularly effective in clinical practice for preventing headaches before they begin.
