Student Health Management Kick-Off Event
On June 14, 2022, guests from the Extended University Executive Board and administration as well as lecturers and representatives of the student body, the Student Union (Studentenwerk) and the Saxon State and University Library Dresden (SLUB) were invited to the Student Health Management (SGM) kick-off event, held in the Ballroom in the Rector's Office.
Under the direction of the Vice-Rectorate University Culture and in close collaboration with the Vice-Rectorate Academic Affairs, the Occupational Health Services team will create a health management system specifically geared toward students. Its aim is to provide instructions on healthy living as well as to establish conditions of study that promote good health. SGM includes many new features such as close links to science, collaboration with all stakeholders at TUD and many outside of the university who are already active in student health, and the participation of students themselves.
The kick-off event featured a presentation from the TUDo! project team led by Prof. Corinna Jacobi and Prof. Andreas Seidler on the current status of their research project. The project observes student health at our university and uses these observations to develop target-oriented services. This was followed by SGM coordinator Annette Schuster’s explanation of the intended course of action for organizing SGM. The participants then had the opportunity to discuss the challenges and potential of the new SGM system within the context of the current services available for promoting student health at TUD.
The event was well-received and many participants offered constructive suggestions. These and the feedback provided subsequent to the event will be analyzed and taken into account in the planning of further steps.
The success of the Student Health Management system depends on the participation of all students and employees of TU Dresden. Therefore, all TUD members are invited to submit their ideas, proposals and suggestions for improvement to University Health Management at .
