The chair’s research work is about valid civil law and Roman law. There is a special interest in comparative connections of these two subject areas.

Research at the Chair
At the moment, the research work done at the chair focusses on questions of detail which arose from the contributions written for the Textbook on Roman Private Law, e.g.: the question of "Hypothekarezeption" and the so-called mortgage succession (in connection with the Roman right of lien) or detailed questions about the calculation of legacy (in connection with the law of lex Falcidia).
